Some Recap

I realize I haven't posted a lot of my random pictures from around London, so here's a go!

Mom and Kathy's Visit!

As a warning, this is a very picture-heavy post. Expect to scroll forever!

Sunday, Mom and Kathy got to the Langham early, so I met up with them and got some much needed Starbucks. In our defense, it's the closest coffee shop to our hotel...so that's what I'm sticking with.

That afternoon we came by my flat and had lunch at one of my favorite place sin London, the Cottage Cafe. Also, it is right across from my flat. Convenience is key, y'all.

We also stopped by my university, which is on the way to Regents Park. The weather that day was some of the nicest since I'd been in London (as I'm typing this it's sunny and 72 degrees - whaaat?!).

We're SO EXCITED TO SEE EACH OTHER!

Monday we took a day trip out to Stonehenge (which was colder than expected once out there), and then to Bath, which was probably one of my favorite parts of their stay. I visited Bath in February, but it was much colder then, so we didn't spend as much time outside. This time Bath was gorgeous!

Tuesday we packed up for our train ride to York! I'm so glad I got this shot of Mom and Kathy in Kings Cross.

Throughout the trip all three of us were guilty of taking photos of our food. Once we got settled in York we stopped by a little hole in the wall restaurant/cafe called Ambiance where I had one of the best salads ever. A+ for quality and presentation!

While in York we got to walk up the 287 steps to the top of York Minster! These photos were only half way up!

That afternoon once we were able to check in Mom and I got some good chill-time in.

After walking around for a bit to find a good place for dinner we finally found a good pub/restaurant (that of course I can't remember the name of now) where I got this. I can't remember what it was called, but it was SOOOO good!

Our second day in church Mom and Kathy woke up early while I slept in for a while (surprise), but soon enough we walked around York and found the ruins of St Mary's Church from the 1080s.

After we returned to London Wednesday night, on Thursday Mom, Kathy, and I pulled a tourist card and took a bus tour of London! At the request of my daddy, we did have to make a quick stop at the London Triumph shop :)

That afternoon we had tea at the Langham (which apparently is the place to have afternoon tea in London) with my friend Mevy. We got lots of yummy finger sandwiches, scones, desserts, champagne, and tea! I'm so glad I didn't eat lunch beforehand because I was stuffed!

We also got to see Wicked that night, which none of us had ever seen before. It was amazing, so consequently I've been playing "Defying Gravity" from the original Wicked soundtrack like all week on my laptop.

Friday ended up being our most relaxed day because we didn't have many plans. In the morning we took a quick tube ride down to Abbey Road, where we saw Abbey Road Studios and go to recreate the Abbey Rd album cover! What you don't realize until you're there is that Abbey Road is a public road...so you have to dodge traffic, pause and take the picture, then run out of the road so that you don't get hit.

That afternoon we revisited my flat so that I could give Mom some of my winter stuff to take home. We  had lunch at one of my favorite places in London called Pitfields, which, if anyone reading this is (going to be) in London, you need to visit. Afterwards we walked around Spitalfields Market before heading back to the hotel to relax before dinner!

That night before dinner with Rita, Mom, Kathy, and I hit up the hotel bar since we hadn't been and we'd noticed it was pretty popular. It was really nice just to sit and chat with them. No hurry to do anything (besides dinner), and reminisce about how much fun we'd had!

Also, Mom looked so pretty :)

And of course, Rita's suggestion for dinner was aaaaamazing. I still feel stuffed from that dinner! It was definitely a dinner that I'll never forget (for the food and the family)!

Again, just to document one of the best desserts I've ever had...it's chocolate with mango sorbet :)

So there you go, that's the really long post! If you've stayed until the end, then thanks and you must have been really dedicated :)

Around London

Both of these were outside Old Spitalfields Market

I don't know what that cucumber shaped building is for...but it's neat.

The interlocking C's for Coco Chanel. Even though she's French, she was involved with a Duke of Westminster, which is why you can see some of the Chanel logos on lampposts around Westminster.

All three photos from Hyde Park!
